Namrata Adhikari

Namrata Adhikari is a singer, songwriter and music educator based in Kathmandu, Nepal.

She is a Higher Diploma in Jazz Studies graduate from Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory studying under talented and experienced national as well as international teachers like Abhisek Bhadra, Maria Fajardo Martin, Daahoud Salim, Tomas Carrasco Gubernatis, Moa Edmunds Guevara to name a few. She has over three years of experience in teaching vocals and music theory in KJC as well as different schools such as Little Angels, Euro Kids and few others. She works with students of all ages and is particularly very good at connecting with the students, understanding their way of learning and then working on it accordingly, hence bringing out the best of their talent.

Adhikari is also actively involved in the growing Nepali music scene performing with her band “Riddim Sons”, whose set includes mostly reggae tunes. She also has experience in singing Jazz and Brazilian songs with her former band “The Latin Combo” and big choirs like “KJC Chamber Choir” and international folk choir “The KJC Folk Choir”. Her noticeable performance includes performance in Sofar sounds with the folk choir, performance in Hits FM Music Awards with her reggae band, appearance in Tuborg Open sessions and more.

Adhikari’s qualification also comes from a wide range of workshops and masterclasses by Christine Helferich Guter, Charlotte Jacobs, Maria Fajardo Martin, to name a few. Coming from a rural background, she aims and hopes to make music education accessible to people of all places in or outside the capital valley. She believes in learning while teaching and is always looking forward to sharing her knowledge with anyone who is eager to learn.
